In 1906, the City of Monrovia purchased what is now Library Park and built its first free-standing library. The doors opened on January 27, 1908 with a collection of 5,000 books. The Carnegie Library was loved by the community and served the city well for the next 45 years until the "mid-Century Modern" version was built in 1956.

A beautiful park unfortunately my daughter was devastated when she was not able to get in the fountain....she didn't understand why...she's definitely a water baby..... Id love to see more parks w better full coverage shade and splash areas....it's too hot for the kids to play most of. The day....I got a burn on my elbow going down a slide the other day...I'm just grateful it wasn't my baby
Something has to be done about the homeless problem! And maybe revisit the QA of the landscaping contract. I understand it's a high traffic park but that just means we need to spend a bit more on maintenance. Beautiful neighborhood space.... just needs another 20 percent more TLC to make it PERFECT!
Great park for kids and families. Located directly behind the library. There’s street parking available. It’s a well maintained park with lots of trees that provide shade and plenty of benches and tables to sit on. Perfect for picnic lunches or gatherings. It’s also walking distance to local businesses for shopping or restaurants
This is a beautiful park! My son proposed to his wife at the fountain and it was a lovely experience! The park is so peaceful with gorgeous trees all around and the nostalgic shop lined Myrtle Street to the east. We love coming here and spending the day and trying different shops each time.
Come to this Library park and sit down and have a picnic, take pictures, take a walk, sit and read. Bring a date or your kids. They have a playset. It's nice!
