This is my families last time eating here. When they were in Pasadena, the same thing cost us barely 50 dollars less than a year ago… Why is this food so expensive now? Two rib plates that come with two of the tiniest sides and a drink cost 70 bucks? Ridiculous. Also why have paper liner in the container and you still place the bread on the ribs to get soggy??? The man who took my order was nice. Very straight and narrow gentleman, no nonsense, and that’s okay. The food took a little longer than it should’ve, but he acknowledged it and apologized which I was also okay with. But was the food work $70… absolutely not. I could’ve took my wife out to a restaurant and had an alcoholic beverage, and it would’ve cost about what I paid for tonight and I definitely would’ve got more food and better service. And the card machine asks for tips!? Why are businesses so greedy nowadays? So disappointing. It looks like they’ve made all their containers smaller too. Not worth the drive to Duarte and wasn’t proud of the money spent. Definitely converting to mom and pops spots in Pasadena…. Rodney’s, and Clifton’s here we come…

Located in the mall with Target facing the rear of Sonic. A hickory smoked aroma filled the air. The food was different. The barbeque beans did not appear or taste like baked beans. They were smaller and harder than expected. The roll was throw at someone to hurt them hard or throw it away (I chose the latter). The sausage was the only item remotely flavorful. There is ample parking. The service was welcoming. The prices are competitive.

I recently stopped by Dickey’s in Duarte for a quick lunch with my wife, as it had been a while since we last visited a Dickies location. Unfortunately, our experience this time was just okay, and I’m not sure if we’ll be returning. Food: I ordered the chili cheese fries, and my wife went with a Loaded baked potato and Crispy Fried Okra. The brisket fries were decent but on the salty side, which took away from the overall flavor. The portion size was fine, but the taste didn’t quite hit the mark for us. Service: The service was a bit of a mixed experience. The gentleman who was present when we arrived wasn’t very friendly, which started things off on the wrong foot. However, the lady who took our order later on was more pleasant and even brought our food to the table, which was a nice touch. Her friendliness helped salvage what would have otherwise been a disappointing interaction. Ambiance: The ambiance was standard for a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit—nothing particularly noteworthy, but clean and functional for a quick meal. Overall: While the food was okay and the service had some redeeming qualities, the experience didn’t stand out. The brisket fries were too salty, and the service could have been more consistently friendly. Given the number of other dining options in the area, we may not be returning to this location anytime soon.

I've eaten here many times and thoroughly enjoy it. I do miss the crinkle frys. When COVID hit, I know they went through some difficult times. They hung in and supported the community. We need to support them..

When I went the person taking my order was pleasant and helpful. They got my food out really fast too. Interestingly, the sandwich actually looks like how they show it. Usually when you take food home from any place, it’s all smashed, but the way she made the sandwich came out perfectly, and it was delicious. Here are photos of how perfectly made it looks. The BBQ sauce is on the side. I went later in the day, so I’m curious how much juicier and tastier it would be if I go right when they open up. Follow-up --- Part 2 Wow this was delicious. I went back to this Dickey’s BBQ a while ago because I wanted to try their food fresh at their location right when they open rather than taking it back home. It was so well worth it. Oh man, that was the juiciest and most delicious bbq I can remember. I had it right around the time they opened that day and it was mouthwatering. If you want good bbq or brisket, then get here right when they open. I went on a Thursday just before the lunch hour and it was awesome. Mac and cheese was phenomenal. The staff was just as friendly as before.
